General Newgrounds Update: Just so everyone knows, this is the ONLY official Newgrounds page of Rina-chan! Please disregard any trolls/impostors you may find, whether here or on YouTube. My only YouTube account (which I rarely use) is "MizukiTenkou"; any other accounts claiming to be me are fake.

Hey guys! I know there are quite a few Street Fighter flashes in the making right now, so I'd like to offer my voice to anyone who may need it~ I've put together a demo reel of me voicing Sakura, Cammy, Chun-Li and Crimson Viper, in that order:

http://suzumiya-haruhi.net/streetfight er.mp3

(The Sakura one is more of my own interpretation of her character than the English dub.. but I could voice match that if you really want me to.)

I'm going to be moving and stuff but after I get my xbox live account set up (...finally) I will let you guys know so you can play me. ;; (Despite all the girly voices in the above audio file, I use Zangief and Sagat. Hahaha.)

I've been getting quite a few emails about this, so let me just say that I apologize for the extreme delay in the Brawl Taunts collab being released. Unfortunately, several of our animators ran into unavoidable real life issues which severely delayed the finishing of their segments. Right now I am only waiting on two animators and I have already spoken with them and they are almost done. I am hesitant to give any sort of release date as I certainly didn't expect the collab would take as long as it did, but everything is done except for these two parts which are almost done, so yeah. (Please don't ask if you can contribute voices or jokes---all the scripting and audio was finished months ago and we are just waiting on the finishing touches for the animation!)

PS: Many people have asked if I am going to Anime Expo. Unfortunately, I don't think I will be able to make it---I've got to move back home (and out of California) due to financial and other issues. I MAY be able to go to Comic-Con, but that depends. If anything, you can catch me at the UCLA Smash Tournament in May.

This weekend, I am being flown to New York as a guest for I-CON! If any Newgrounders are planning to attend, please stop by and say hi. :D

I hate doing this, but long story short: I'm in a terrible financial situation right now, and I really really could use some donations.

http://suzumiya-haruhi.net/donate.html (the paypal link is on there)

Anything at all really helps. If you liked Brawl Taunts, if you liked my voice work or liked the voices I did for your flash, even if you just want to fight me in Brawl...I would appreciate it so much. ;_;

Hey there.
I'm pretty bad about checking my PMs (I get a lot of spam and useless crap in there daily), so if you have a voice request for me, please e-mail:

Thanks!

Merry Christmas Newgrounders!

I'm sick on Christmas, which sucks... I also have to work tonight, haha, but I need the money so I don't mind.

Hope everyone has a safe and fun holiday season~

It was a hard decision... it really was. About 30 artists submitted themselves for consideration, and in the end, I could only choose 6 people to add to the team. I apologize again that the deadline was so short, and I am really grateful for everyone's interest in Brawl Taunts 3. (plus, I'm interested to see the... erm... anti-Brawl Taunts collab that some people in another community are working on >D Why does everyone draw me as a pig monster? I'm not that scary looking ;o;)

Please do not get upset if you weren't chosen. I went through every submission and considered it carefully. I also watched the artists' other works or, for those that weren't active on Newgrounds, the animation samples they sent me in the e-mail. I will be getting in touch with all the participants very shortly.

PREVIOUSLY CHOSEN ARTISTS: Kirbopher and MrSnippy

COLLAB PARTICIPANTS:
1. Lenko
2. Secondstamp
3. FaltaViva
4. FioriParty
5. Deivid
6. Tasty (Newgrounds name: ???)

RUNNERS UP/ALTERNATES (will be used in this order if people drop or keep missing deadlines)
1. UnrealCanine
2. JaviToons
3. Oney

Congrats all!! *hands over a Big Gay Dance* :P

Also... if anyone's looking to buy a new Nintendo DS game, you should check out "Away: Shuffle Dungeon". I do voices for quite a few of the female NPCs :D :D :D

A lot of people asked if I could extend the deadline for sending in a sketch. However, I have already received an overwhelming number of submissions so far, and I would really like to get the process moving as soon as possible. It is now November 1st, so you will have until midnight PST to get your sketches in. I am very sorry for the inconvenience... but hey, when you think about it, Kirb animated Brawl Taunts 1 in three days ;) (Don't worry... if you're chosen to animate, you'll get more time than that.)

I divided up the script and in total I will be choosing six people to animate (in addition to Kirb who is doing the intro and outro, and a real life animator friend of mine who I'd already promised a part.) I will also be choosing a list of three alternates (first, second, and third runners up) to be available in case someone drops out or cannot do their segment.

Also... please don't ask me about voice acting >>;; I don't mean to be mean... it's just that, I run an entire forum full of voice actors, and Kirb and I do a lot of voices ourselves, plus I'm having cameos from some local smashers and parts I promised to people from forever ago, so.. yeah, that part is covered. Sorry D:

Anyway...up and at 'em! Thank you for all the submissions---it is a much bigger response than what we expected!

WARNING: THE FOLLOWING BLOG POST IS ABOUT VIDEO GAME PARODY STUFF SO IF YOU HATE VIDEO GAME PARODIES PLEASE DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER. If you post anyway, I will assume you are just trolling to make your e-cock feel bigger.

Hey all! Rina-chan, writer of the "Brawl Taunts" videos here. Anyway, here's the deal: Since I play competitive Brawl, I hear a lot of people quoting and enjoying the movies, and many of them have asked about a third. The answer was originally "no", but I started coming up with jokes, and talking to Kirbopher more and more about it, and... we came to a conclusion.

There is going to be a Brawl Taunts 3.

But here's the catch: This is going to be a collaborative animation project.
I will choose (with Kirb's help) the top 3-5 animators to each animate a segment of "Even More Brawl Taunts" (which, btw, will incorporate every single character from the game this time around). The audio will be provided for you; you'll have a lot of creative freedom over the visuals (though I will meet with you online to give some basic direction). You'll also get some say in which part you want to animate.

YOU MAY BE ASKING YOURSELF THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS...

So what will I get out of this?
+ Full credit for the animation, both in the actual credits of the movie (for all the youtube stealers) and listed as a coauthor on the Newgrounds page.
+ A share of the prize money IF we win a monthly prize. I cannot guarantee we will win anything, but if we do, the prize will be split between the animators who contributed.
+ The opportunity to be a part of something that literally millions of other smashers watch and enjoy. It will probably be premiering at a few local events, too. >_>

Can I contribute jokes/voices/etc?
The script is already written, but if you are chosen to animate a portion of it, I will be open to any constructive criticism on the jokes. As for voices, I'm pretty much sticking with my same cast (I do have a few new characters but most have already been promised to someone) but if you're doing animation and really want a voice cameo, I could try to work something out.

This is gay! Brawl Taunts sucks!
No one's forcing you to help---go ahead and click that little X on the window now. Many people do enjoy the Brawl Taunts movies, and I know that not everyone will enjoy my style of humor, but I really appreciate the fact that a lot of people do. (And yes, I've been listening to constructive criticism and went a little lighter on the internet memes for this next script. Hah.)

I'm in! How do I enter?
E-mail me at midori.ninja@gmail.comwith the following:
+ A sample of your animation (no sprites; please send me something you actually drew.) You don't have to make something specifically for this---you can just link me to your Newgrounds page, or send me a clip from a school project. I just need some sort of proof that you actually know how to animate using Flash.
+ A sketch of any Brawl character of your choice.

You have until November 1, 2008. Good luck!

Clocking in at just under one hour long, it's finally done. I know the feuding has calmed down a bit since the time I called for submissions, but the issue is still relevant and probably always will be.

To give some background: At the beginning of the summer, I held an open call for audio submissions from any and all flash artists who had something to say about the rivalry between artists who spend time making high quality original submissions and artists who make quickly animated video game parodies. I gathered submissions from both groups and put everything together, divided into addressing the following issues:

+ What are the main factors which influence the popularity of a Flash submission?
+ Do you think the Newgrounds voting system is a fair assessment of the quality of a Flash, and why or why not?
+ What is your take on the feud and the reason it exists (or doesn't exist)?
+ Is there a solution?

Yes, it's long. I edited and cut as much as I could, but it's still nearly an hour, and I apologize. However, I suggest listening to it while doing something else like animating, studying, working, or even just stick it on your ipod for the next time you have a long commute. There's a lot of stuff in here.

BIG THANKS to the following artists for submitting:
The-Swain
Kirbopher
Billy Monks/MrChocobo
Aeonstars
Jimtopia
Elder99
Kenkaku
Weird0
RPGsrok
HadoukenDude
Rtil
Squeef/50vmp
CZ-Backlash
Jared Johnson
RabidSquirrelStudios
YungJazz
DonaldM
Gerkinman
SpedsOnAPlane
Omegafinal
Kliff
Anigen

All the background music was composed by my good friends DoctorAttitude and Nubbinownz and used with permission. You can find all these awesome songs for download at their audio portal pages! (The song at 40:20 was originally by Father of Death; Nubbinownz added the drums as part of a contest entry.)

Disclaimer for conspiracy theorists: This is intended to be an unbiased look at the current situation, which is why everyone who sent something in got their submission heard. I did not submit my own opinion nor will I state it here because 1) I can see both sides of the issue and 2) I want the documentary to allow each group to see where the other is coming from and let the listener come to their own conclusion on the matter. No, I don't expect that this will change anything on Newgrounds, nor was that my intention---I just thought it was an interesting debate and wanted to document it.

Check back soon for a bonus Easter egg!
